TRI4MS Policy and future

We hope to file for a Non profit charter in 2005. This will allows us to attract corporate sponsors to TRI4MS to help pay for the administration costs of the organization as it grows into the future.

As a non profit we will have a charter and a board of directors. We currently have a informal board which meets every quarter. The board is made up of Robert O'Brien, Fred Snow, Suanne Snow, Ulan Nivera and Mike Manzo. In accordance with our current guidelines and future charter 60% of the board are directly impacted by MS. Robert & Fred both have MS, Suanne is married to an MS patient. Ulan and Mike are present because of their long standing support of TRI4MS in the roles of technical advisor and coach.

To ensure that TRI4MS never looses its integrity the charter has a requirement that 60% of the Board of directors of  must be either MS suffers or direct relative of an MS suffers. By mandating the makeup of the Board to people directly impacted by MS this will help protect the integrity of the organization for the future.

Regardless of our status we will continue to contribute 100% of  funds raised directly to the National MS Society As we grow we anticipate that administration cost will increase, for the fiscal year 2005 we the founders will take on all the costs of administration. A non profit status will allows us to deduct these cost and hence allows us to do more with our limited personal funds. When we do secure a corporate sponsor we will disclose the nature of the relationship on this site .

Our hope for 2005 is to raise 100,000 for the National MS Society, we hope to get 100 people to compete in endurance events throughout the year and each person will try to raise $1000. Following our charter we do not have a minimum requirements all we ask is people to try to raise $1000.
